VeChain is a cryptocurrency platform designed to enhance supply chain management processes. The VeChain platform aims to connect technologies such as NFC, RFID, QR codes, and barcodes with products so the items can be tracked to prevent counterfeiting.

There are a lot of different options when it comes to buying Bitcoins. For example, there are currently almost 1,800 Bitcoin ATMs in 58 countries. Moreover, you can buy BTC using gift cards, cryptocurrency exchanges, investment trusts and you can even trade face-to-face.

Bitcoin isn’t going away; I am buying more, my friends are buying more, lots of people are buying more. If we see this as a better place to keep our money, then you are going to have less to lend out. What then? You are going to have to borrow from your competitors, and this is going to get a lot more expensive for you and you are going to make a lot less money. Maybe only a little to begin with, but I recommend you read Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, the dude with the crazy hair. I’ve dropped a link in for you, sod it, I’ll buy you a copy if you want?

Digital currency is a money balance recorded electronically on a stored-value card or other device. Another form of electronic money is network money, allowing the transfer of value on computer networks, particularly the Internet. Electronic money is also a claim on a private bank or other financial institution such as bank deposits.[3]

I think we can agree it is inevitable that you will have to modernise and face up to the fact we want Crypto. Mark Carney isn’t going to be your shining knight, we all think he’s an idiot anyway. Once your customers start going elsewhere and you have less money to lend you are going to feel like the people who didn’t buy Bitcoin at $30, then $300, then $3,000.

Most of the traditional money supply is bank money held on computers. This is also considered digital currency. One could argue that our increasingly cashless society means that all currencies are becoming digital (sometimes referred to as “electronic money”), but they are not presented to us as such.[15]

Further, many quite simply don’t have the adoption rate to offer any sort of liquidity or security. Still, amateur alt-coins are part of the space, and there are more all the time. They’re also a point of contention for many critics of crypto-currency generally, who point towards how easy it is to create a crypto-currency these days. Of course, it wasn’t so easy until Bitcoin demonstrated the model.

Why is using blockchain and decentralizing a currency so important to its success? The answer to this question boils down to the ability to cut out the proverbial middle man responsible for verifying all transaction who in the real world charge the users for this action. What does this mean for the user? The transaction fees are set by the users. In theory, there doesn’t have to be a transaction fee at all to complete each transaction, but there is the matter of speed and how quickly you want your transaction to be added to the blockchain. If you need everything done now and want your transaction to be accelerated to the top of the list, then expect to pay a small amount for your transaction. The thing is, it doesn’t matter how much money you are sending in your transaction, low or high it is all equal to the roughly the same amount of data. Because of this, the fee will entirely be reflected only by how fast you want the transaction to be complete.

NEO — It’s a smart contract network that allows for all kinds of financial contracts and third-party distributed apps to be developed on top of it. It has many of the same goals as Ethereum, but it’s developed in China, which can potentially give it some advantages due to improved relationship with Chinese regulators and local businesses.

But Bitcoin isn’t the only game in town. There are a number of digital currencies available that you can use to manage your transactions. The reason that digital currency is becoming so popular has to do with how easy it is to use:

“Well, I think it is working. There may be other currencies like it that may be even better. But in the meantime, there’s a big industry around Bitcoin. — People have made fortunes off Bitcoin, some have lost money. It is volatile, but people make money off of volatility too.” [SOURCE]

Satoshi Nakamoto has claimed to be a man living in Japan who was born on the 5th April, 1975. However, Nakamoto has always been somewhat secretive about his identity. In fact, it is unclear to this day whether they are a real person or a pseudonym. Many people speculate that Nakamoto is actually a group of developers who worked together to jump start the Bitcoin project and then disbanded when it took off. Nakamoto worked on the Bitcoin system up until December of 2010, at which point he handed over the network alert key and the source code repository to Gavin Andresen while distributing some of the key domains linked to Bitcoin amongst notable members of the Bitcoin community. Afterwards, his involvement with the project ceased.

Of course, users of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin can always exchange their coins for BTCs. Moreover, there are Gift Card selling websites like Gift Off, which accepts around 20 different cryptocurrencies. Through gift cards, you can essentially buy anything with a cryptocurrency.

Another problem you need to think about is as it gets easier for us to buy things with Crypto, we are going to do more of this too, why? Well, it should be cheaper without those little % merchant fees you charge for all those people in the chain. Technology doesn’t like middlemen.

Unlike Bitcoin, whose early adopters often used it to buy drugs, weapons, or other illicit goods on the dark web, Dogecoin attracted a crowd of earnest do-gooders at first. They even set up a philanthropic arm, called the Dogecoin Foundation, and used it to raise thousands of for projects, including sponsoring service dogs for autistic children and drilling water wells in Kenya. (Their generosity extended to quirkier projects; when Dogecoin fans heard that Jamaica’s two-man bobsled team had qualified for the Winter Olympics in Sochi but lacked the money to get to Russia, they pitched in $30,000 to fund the trip.)

Already, there are signs of trouble on the horizon. This week, after Chinese authorities announced a crackdown on virtual currencies, the value of Bitcoin briefly tumbled 30 percent before partially recovering. The value of Dogecoin fell more than 50 percent last week. Its market value by midday Friday was about $100 million.

Towards this end, we’ve developed open source software called 21 that makes it easy to perform Bitcoin micropayments over HTTP. The software allows you to get digital currency onto any machine headlessly, set up web services that accept and transmit bitcoin over HTTP, and discover other machines with similar services to autonomously trade with.

Dash; this uses Masternodes to complete several transactions. It prioritizes namelessness and has no public record. Therefore, it is very challenging for other players to know one’s deals and savings.

I am resident in Nigeria and have been trying to sign-up with some exchanges to enable me by Ether. But they all seem to be declining my sign-up with an excuse that they do not currently cover Nigeria.

Ethereum is a cryptocurrency and a blockchain platform with smart contract functionality. It’s basically a decentralized platform for developers to build apps on top of and it was invented by Vitalik Buterin in 2013.

Interest in Nakamoto’s invention built steadily. More and more people dedicated their computers to the lottery, and forty-four exchanges popped up, allowing anyone with bitcoins to trade them for official currencies like dollars or euros. Creative computer engineers could mine for bitcoins; anyone could buy them. At first, a single bitcoin was valued at less than a penny. But merchants gradually began to accept bitcoins, and at the end of 2010 their value began to appreciate rapidly. By June of 2011, a bitcoin was worth more than twenty-nine dollars. Market gyrations followed, and by September the exchange rate had fallen to five dollars. Still, with more than seven million bitcoins in circulation, Nakamoto had created thirty-five million dollars of value.

Many cryptocurrencies are designed to operate outside of the control of governments or banks. That’s likely to appeal to North Korea at a time when the U.S. is stepping up efforts to cut the country out of the international financial system over its nuclear weapons program.

With the recent price increases, the outstanding units of the Ether currency were worth around $34 billion as of Monday — or 82 percent as much as all the Bitcoin in existence. At the beginning of the year, Ether was only about 5 percent as valuable as Bitcoin.

Twitter Scammers Are Impersonating Famous People to Steal Your Crypto: Just like with the Nigerian Prince, if it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a scam. What’s happening is people are sending crypto to addresses they believe to be owned by high profile figures like Elon Musk who promise to give them much more back. Some of you may be thinking “wow, who would ever fall for this?”. Apparently, a lot of people: so many that Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin changed his username to “No I’m not giving away ETH”.

Now if you are interested in investing in Bitcoins or digital currencies, this probably isn’t the post for you. What we plan on explaining to you is the societal implications of such technology being implemented at scale.

  1. Crypto Goes Pedagogical: Cryptocurrency Added to Merriam-Webster Dictionary: The popular dictionary revealed in a blog post earlier this week that, among 850 new additions to their definitions this March, cryptocurrency, blockchain, and initial coin offering were added to the list.  Emily Brewster, an associate editor at Merriam-Webster, explained the organization’s rationale in a press release: “In order for a word to be added to the dictionary it must have widespread, sustained, and meaningful use. These new words have been added to the dictionary because they have become established members of the English language, and are terms people are likely to encounter.”

Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously. In addition, international payments are easy and cheap because bitcoins are not tied to any country or subject to regulation. Small businesses may like them because there are no credit card fees. Some people just buy bitcoins as an investment, hoping that they’ll go up in value.
Depending on a jurisdiction you live in, once you’ve made a profit or a loss investing in cryptocurrencies, you might need to include it in your tax report. In terms of taxation, cryptocurrencies are treated very differently from country to country. In the US, the Internal Revenue Service ruled that Bitcoins and other digital currencies are to be taxed as property, not currency. For investors, this means that accrued long-term gains and losses from cryptocurrency trading are taxed at each investor’s applicable capital gains rate, which stands at a maximum of 15 percent.
