ICON developers claim that its ecosystem already boasts reputable institutions such as banks, insurance companies, universities, and more that believe that the ICON platform can enable frictionless value exchange of securities, medical records, academic data, and insurance fees.

Nakamoto worked on the Bitcoin system up until December of 2010, at which point he handed over the network alert key and the source code repository to Gavin Andresen while distributing some of the key domains linked to Bitcoin amongst notable members of the Bitcoin community. Afterwards, his involvement with the project ceased.
Another difference: ICOs don’t have to live up to the same high standards as IPOs.
